2. It was a present on the 100th anniversary of the United States.
3. The Statue of Liberty was designed by Frederic Auguste Bartholdi.
4. It was completed in France in July 1884.
5. In 350 pieces, the statue then was shipped to New York, where it arrived on 17 June 1885.
6. The pieces were put together and the opening ceremony took place on 28 October 1886.
7. The Statue of Liberty is 46 m high (93 m including the base).
8. The statue represents the goddess of liberty.
9. She holds a torch in her right hand and a tablet in her left hand.
10. On the tablet you can see the date of the Declaration of Independence (July 4, 1776).

1. In the year 122 AD, the Roman Emperor Hadrian visited his provinces in Britain.
2. On his visit, the Roman soldiers told him that Pictish tribes from Britain's north had attacked them.
3. So Hadrian gave the order to build a protective wall across one of the narrowest parts of the country.
4. After 6 years of hard work, the Wall was finished in 128.
5. It was 117 kilometres long and about 4 metres high.
6. The Wall was guarded by 15,000 Roman soldiers.
7. Every 8 kilometres there was a large fort in which up to 1,000 soldiers found shelter.
8. The soldiers watched over the frontier to the north and checked the people who wanted to enter or leave Roman Britain.
9. In order to pass through the Wall, people had to go to one of the small forts that served as gateways.
10. Those forts were called milecastles because the distance from one fort to another was one Roman mile (about 1,500 metres).
11. Between the milecastles there were two turrets from which the soldiers guarded the Wall.
12. If the Wall was attacked by enemies, the soldiers at the turrets ran to the nearest milecastle for help or lit a fire that could be seen by the soldiers in the milecastle.
13. In 383 Hadrian's Wall was abandoned.
14. Today Hadrian's Wall is the most popular tourist attraction in northern England.
15. In 1987, it became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Centralia Kota Pintu Neraka
sebuah kebakaran kecil di Centralia (Pennsylvania) merembet kedalam gua batubara di bawah kota. Bulan Mei 1962, Dewan Borough Centralia mempekerjakan lima anggota pemadam sukarela membersihkan tempat pembuangan sampah kota, yang terletak di tambang tua sebelah Pemakaman Odd Fellows. Pembersihan tersebut seharusnya dilakukan pada Hari Peringatan di tahun sebelumnya, tetapi pada tahun sebelumnya tempat pembuangan sampah berada di lokasi yang berbeda. 
Si pemadam, yang telah dilakukan pada masa lalu, membakar sampah-sampah, membiarkannya sementara waktu, dan memadamkannya, itulah yang mereka kira. Sebenarnya, kebakaran tersebut masih terjadi di bagian terendah tumpukan sampah dan menyebar melalui sebuah lubang yang menuju tambang batubara yang ditinggalkan di bawah Centralia. Segala cara memadamkan api tidak berhasil, dan api itu terus membakar sepanjang 1960-an dan 1970-an. Dampak kesehatan dilaporkan terhadap beberapa penduduk karena karbon monoksida yang dihasilkan.

Alasan Mengapa Cewek Tak Menyukai Cowok Gondrong

Centralia Kota Pintu Neraka
sebuah kebakaran kecil di Centralia (Pennsylvania) merembet kedalam gua batubara di bawah kota. Bulan Mei 1962, Dewan Borough Centralia mempekerjakan lima anggota pemadam sukarela membersihkan tempat pembuangan sampah kota, yang terletak di tambang tua sebelah Pemakaman Odd Fellows. Pembersihan tersebut seharusnya dilakukan pada Hari Peringatan di tahun sebelumnya, tetapi pada tahun sebelumnya tempat pembuangan sampah berada di lokasi yang berbeda.
Si pemadam, yang telah dilakukan pada masa lalu, membakar sampah-sampah, membiarkannya sementara waktu, dan memadamkannya, itulah yang mereka kira. Sebenarnya, kebakaran tersebut masih terjadi di bagian terendah tumpukan sampah dan menyebar melalui sebuah lubang yang menuju tambang batubara yang ditinggalkan di bawah Centralia. Segala cara memadamkan api tidak berhasil, dan api itu terus membakar sepanjang 1960-an dan 1970-an. Dampak kesehatan dilaporkan terhadap beberapa penduduk karena karbon monoksida yang dihasilkan.
Tahun 1979, penduduk lokal menjadi khawatir meningkatnya masalah tersebut ketika seorang pemilik pom bensin memasukkan tongkat ke salah satu tangki minyak bawah tanah untuk mengecek tinggi bahan bakar. Ketika ia memasukkannya, terasa panas, sehingga ia menurunkan termometer dengan seutas tali dan terkejut bahwa temperatur bensin di tangki adalah 172 derajat Fahrenheit (77.8°C. Perhatian negara bagian terhadap kebakaran mulai meningkat, terutama pada 1981 ketika anak berusia 12 tahun Todd Domboski jatuh ke lubang berlebar 4 kaki sedalam 150 kaki (45 meter) yang tiba-tiba membuka di bawah kakinya.
Ia tertolong setelah saudara tertuanya menariknya dari mulut lubang sebelum ia terperosok. Insiden ini membawa perhatian nasional terhadap Centralia sementara sebuah grup investigator (termasuk seorang dewan negara bagian, seorang senator negara bagian, dan seorang direktur keamanan) sedang melakukan tur menuju rumah Domboski ketika insiden tersebut terjadi.
Tahun 1984, Kongres mengalokasikan lebih dari $42 juta untuk relokasi. Kebanyakan penduduk menerima penawaran ganti rugi dan pindah ke kota Mount Carmel dan Ashland.
Saat ini, Centralia adalah tempat yang ditinggalkan serasa kosong dan berhantu. Api masih menyala di bawah kota dan ada batubara cukup untuk memberi makan api sampai 250 tahun lamanya.

Alasan Mengapa Cewek Tak Menyukai Cowok Gondrong
Gaya rambut bisa mencerminkan kepribadian seseorang. Bahkan seringkali, model rambut bisa menjadi kesan pertama saat pertama kali bertemu seseorang. Intinya, potongan rambut bisa jadi daya tarik seseorang.
Namun, kebanyakan pria ternyata tidak menyukai potongan rambut wanita dengan model bob, atau berambut pendek. Sedangkan sebagian besar wanita tidak menyukai pria gondrong alias berambut panjang.

Seperti dikutip dari laman YourTango, sebuah jajak pendapat di sebuah situs online mengungkap, alasannya adalah pria berambut panjang, terutama yang tidak terawat akan terlihat berantakan, jorok dan kotor. Meski bagi beberapa wanita, pria berambut panjang terawat terlihat seksi, tapi banyak wanita yang justru merasa tersaingi. Karena, bisa jadi rambut pria tersebut lebih indah dari rambutnya.
Selain itu, gaya rambut pria paling menjijikkan buat wanita adalah yang panjang dan gimbal. Menurut wanita, pria dengan rambut gimbal umumnya tidak bisa menjaga kebersihan tubuhnya yang lain.
Itulah alasan lebih banyak wanita yang tidak memilih pria berambut panjang sebagai pasangan. Jadi, bagi pria yang sedang mencari pasangan, mungkin bisa memotong rambut panjangnya untuk memikat banyak wanita.
